\u00danase a los miembros verdes alemanes del Parlamento Europeo, el Sr. Reinhard B\u00fctikofer, que est\u00e1 organizando un seminario web "\u00bfQu\u00e9 le espera a Hong Kong? El futuro de la lucha de Hong Kong por la democracia". Han invitado a dos destacados dem\u00f3cratas de Hong Kong para discutir los acontecimientos: Martin Lee, un abogado de 81 a\u00f1os, que particip\u00f3 activamente en la formulaci\u00f3n de la Ley B\u00e1sica de Hong Kong y ha sido apodado el "Padre de la Democracia de Hong Kong" y Alan Leong, candidato a la Oficina del Jefe Ejecutivo en 2007, miembro del LegCo desde 2004 hasta 2016, y es presidente del partido C\u00edvico que gan\u00f3 32 de los 452 esca\u00f1os (que son 20 m\u00e1s desde las \u00faltimas elecciones) en las elecciones de distrito.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Desde que el bando dem\u00f3crata de Hong Kong obtuvo una victoria aplastante en las elecciones de distrito del 24 de noviembre de 2019, Pek\u00edn ha respondido con un tono a\u00fan m\u00e1s agresivo que antes. La jefa ejecutiva, Carrie Lam, ha cedido ante cada una de las medidas adoptadas por los dirigentes chinos para vulnerar la autonom\u00eda de Hong Kong, su estado de derecho y su respeto por los derechos c\u00edvicos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recientemente, Carrie Lam reorganiz\u00f3 su gabinete, llen\u00e1ndolo de miembros de la l\u00ednea dura. La polic\u00eda de Hong Kong anunci\u00f3 recientemente que no se ha llevado a juicio ni un solo caso de brutalidad policial desenfrenada cometida contra manifestantes democr\u00e1ticos el a\u00f1o pasado. Por otra parte, casi 600 personas est\u00e1n siendo procesadas por participar en el movimiento de protesta del a\u00f1o pasado. Se est\u00e1 persiguiendo a los l\u00edderes dem\u00f3cratas, lo que lleg\u00f3 a los titulares internacionales cuando fueron arrestados 15 de los representantes m\u00e1s importantes y respetados del campo dem\u00f3crata. Pek\u00edn parece haber decidido sustituir el autogobierno de Hong Kong paso a paso por la interferencia directa del continente, incluso si eso viola claramente la Ley B\u00e1sica de Hong Kong y la Declaraci\u00f3n Conjunta Sino-Brit\u00e1nica.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

En estas dif\u00edciles circunstancias y bajo la presi\u00f3n adicional de la crisis de Covid-19, Hong Kong se prepara para las elecciones al Consejo Legislativo (LegCo) en septiembre. Si bien las manifestaciones p\u00fablicas y las actividades pol\u00edticas son en gran medida imposibles por ahora, una poderosa iniciativa de figuras del establishment dirigida por Beijing, encabezada por dos ex jefes ejecutivos, ha formado una alianza que inmediatamente demostr\u00f3 su prop\u00f3sito al hablar mal y denunciar al movimiento democr\u00e1tico. Estas fuerzas del establishment, as\u00ed como Beijing, son plenamente conscientes de que corren un riesgo muy alto de perder las elecciones al LegCo, tal como perdieron las elecciones de distrito. Los dem\u00f3cratas podr\u00edan, por primera vez, lograr una mayor\u00eda en el LegCo, paralizando efectivamente los planes existentes de utilizar el LegCo para restringir a\u00fan m\u00e1s las libertades de Hong Kong.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

En este contexto, hemos invitado a dos destacados dem\u00f3cratas de Hong Kong para que debatan sobre la evoluci\u00f3n de la ciudad desde su punto de vista. Martin Lee, un abogado de 81 a\u00f1os, particip\u00f3 activamente en la formulaci\u00f3n de la Ley B\u00e1sica de Hong Kong y ha sido apodado el "Padre de la Democracia de Hong Kong". Tambi\u00e9n fue miembro del Consejo Legislativo de Hong Kong de 1985 a 1997 y de 1998 a 2008. Fue uno de los 15 l\u00edderes democr\u00e1ticos arrestados recientemente.
