Oceans cover over 70% of our planet’s surface. It’s where life began, and even where our species emerged from. They have a beauty beyond value, and yet have provided us with so much that have helped us flourish, as well as helped mitigate the worst effects of climate change. So far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But our oceans and seas are dying. Fish stocks are collapsing. Coral is dying. From algal blooms from agricultural run-off to acidification from carbon absorption to intensive fishing to sea-bed mining, our human activity is quickly outstripping the ocean’s ability to regulate and provide biodiversity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Urgent action is critical. Global Greens delegates will be attending UN Oceans Conference 9th-13th June in Nice, and ahead of that, the international Green community has prepared this Press Release stipulating our demands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
