The Role: 

We are looking for a highly motivated Events Coordinator to assist the Global Greens manage and coordinate our international virtual and in-person events, as well as engage and strengthen relationships with greens organisations from all over the world, our key stakeholders and the general public.

About Global Greens: 

We are the only global organisation with 100+ Green Parties worldwide, as well as Members of Parliament, Foundations, Think Tanks and individuals, working together for an environmentally and socially just world.

Reporting to the Executive Secretary, and with the assistance of the Global Greens team, the duties of the Events Coordinator include but are not limited to:

  • Organising and coordinating the Global Greens Virtual Conference in February 2022 
  • Organising, managing and attending the Global Greens 2023 Congress in South Korea
  • Facilitating monthly webinars with Global Greens Members
  • Coming up with fresh ideas and concepts for Greens events that promote inclusion and diversity and are in line with the Global Greens Charter and ethos
  • Managing budgets, project plans, contact lists and event databases
  • Working closely with the Volunteer Manager to manage and coordinate volunteer staff for events

Skills and experience required: 

  • At least three years of relevant experience managing or coordinating events, preferably in an NGO environment
  • Proven experience in managing or assisting the coordination of internal and external teams
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent in English (other languages are a bonus)
  • Ability to make quick decisions and to remain calm under pressure
  • Strong organisational, planning and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise and problem solve
  • Sound knowledge of social media, database tools and virtual meeting software (especially Zoom and running webinars)
  • Passion for organising effective and exciting events
  • A knowledge of environmental policy and Greens policy is desirable
  • A “can do” attitude and one that enjoys working in a small but hard working team from all corners of the globe
  • A flexible mindset, and understanding of the changing/evolving nature of event work 

Contract Duration:

The contract starts on 01 December 2021 and ends on 31 May 2023. The contract may be extended following a review.


As this is a remote role, our Events Coordinator can work from home or their chosen environment, however, they must have access to a fast and reliable internet connection as well as be available for meetings with the wider Global Greens team. 


6 month probationary period as well as regular monthly one-on-one reviews with the Executive Secretary to ensure both parties are satisfied with progress.
