COP16 is a critical moment to turn the tide on the destruction of biodiversity and our natural world. Nature has an intrinsic beauty and value, but healthy, biodiverse ecological systems underpin all life on Earth, including our own.
We are at a crossroads.
Do we stand by and watch our very life systems collapse?
Or do we learn from the Earth, using our knowledge, intelligence and compassion to rebuild and protect biodiversity and the natural world?
The choice is clear. Global Greens have a delegation in Cali, and are working closely with FPVA and Colombian Greens to put pressure and foster action. COP15 saw a landmark set of agreements in Montreal, after many years of failures and missed targets.
We have no more time for failures or empty rhetoric.
Greens understand and appreciate the value of our natural world. It’s in our political DNA. And it is our politics that can make a difference. The solutions to save nature and rebuild biodiversity are not radical, nor require new technological developments. We have all the answers. All that is needed is political will, coordination at the international level, with ACTION at the national level.
