Global Health politics have rarely received as much attention as right now. Could states have cooperated better and earlier? Which role did and does the WHO play? How can we support countries with a weaker health system? How do we fairly distribute limited health products? Which lessons can we take away for Global Health for a time after this pandemic?
These and other questions will be discussed in an international webinar. We do not want to focus only on the current emergency response, but also look into the future and zoom in on some more structural global health issues.
We are looking forward to welcoming the following panelists:
- Dr. Anne Roemer-Mahler, Associate Professorin in International Relations & Deputy Director, Centre for Global Health Policy von der University of Sussex
- Dr. Elizabeth Wala, Programmdirektorin Gesundheitssystemstärkung bei Amref Health Africa & Vice-Chair of the Kenya Healthcare Federation
- Dr. Rüdiger Krech, Director, Health Promotion, Division of Universal Health Coverage and Healthier Populations, World Health Organization (WHO)
- Ottmar von Holz, MP, Speaker for civil crisis prevention of The Greens’ group in the German Parliament
The debate will take place in English. We will offer translation to German if there is need in the Q&A.
