Patricia Maldonado has been a full member of the Global Green Coordination since 2014. She represents the Federation of Green Parties of the Americas (FPVA). A strong advocate of environmental policies and actions, she firmly believes that Political Ecology is the only viable form of governance suited to the challenges of the 21st century.
She is an official delegate of the Partido Verde Ecologista de México in the FPVA, where she has occupied several positions throughout the years: FPVA Co-president (2013-2015), FPVA Vice- President (2015- 2019), Executive Secretary (2011-2013) and General Secretary (2003- 2009). She currently serves as FPVA Co-President (2019 – 2021).
Since 1993 she has been closely collaborating with prominent Mexican Green Jorge González Torres under the banner of the PVEM political project. In that capacity, she has acted as Communication Coordinator (1993-2001), Campaign Coordinator (1994, 1997), Advisor to the Presidency (1993-2001), Advisor to Counsellor ex-Chairman National Political Council (2001-2019) and International Relations – FPVA (2003-2019).
A long-standing supporter of environmental causes, Ms. Maldonado believes that Global Green actors, united in diversity, can positively shape the future and raise awareness about the vital importance of protecting and caring for all forms of life. She hopes Green parties all over the world get to know more about the fine educational and legal work undertaken by Mexican Greens and other FPVA members.
Patricia Maldonado has studied 2 Master’s Degrees (Communications Sciences and Social Psychology): She pursued a professional career in mass media (national television, radio and newspapers) and in academia as a University Professor. Spanish native speaker, also speaks french and english.
