Women in North Africa and the Middle East

1. The Arab spring has become winter for the women of Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, Libya and of the Middle East. Women’s struggle has been high-jacked as the other struggles for social justice and democracy in our region.

2. We, the Global Greens, meeting in Dakar in 2012, ask the governments of Northern Africa and of the Middle East to give women the right to participate fully in political life. 

3. We ask for equal rights and gender balance between men and women leaders of political parties.
