Dear Global Greens family,
We hope this finds you well in your corner of our beautiful planet.
Following our work at COP26, we are now busy preparing for COP27. We are very excited to open the Global Greens COP27 Delegates selection process. If you would like to represent and deliver Global Green activities in the run up to and at COP27, we’ve now opened applications.
Please read through the guidelines below and submit your application here.
The deadline for submissions is Friday 22nd July 2022.
From this, we will make a longlist of potential delegates who will be registered in the UNFCCC system. Once more details have been provided by the UNFCCC, a shortlist will be devised, with a reserve list of potential delegates should anyone from the shortlist be unable to attend.

The United Nations Climate Change Conference COP27 will take place from 6 November to 18 November 2022 in Sharm el-Sheik, Egypt. The Global Greens will be sending a selection of delegates* to observe negotiations, represent the Global Greens and report back to our network of member organisations. Global Greens delegates will be considered Non-Governmental Observers for the purpose of the Conference.
The application process for Global Greens delegates to COP26 has been designed to ensure that:
- The diversity of our member organisations is equitably represented, with at least two delegates selected from each of the four Global Greens Federations.
- A minimum of 50% of our delegates will identify as women or non-binary;
- There is a balance between delegates who already have international negotiation experience, and those with a demonstrated commitment to climate campaigning within their communities.
Applications will be each graded by the Review Panel, which will be composed of individuals from the Global Greens Coordination and the Global Greens Climate Working Group. The panel will grade responses without reference to demographic details to minimise the impact of unconscious bias on the process.
After the Review Panel selects its preferred candidates, we may contact your regional Federation for further information, such as your history of involvement in Federation activities.
Unfortunately, the Global Greens can only provide minimal support for the travel and accommodation costs for delegates attending COP27. For outstanding candidates who are unable to fund their own travel, accommodation, and other costs, Global Greens, including selected delegates, can work to raise funds to support their trip, so please do apply.
The language of COP is English, so applicants must be comfortable working in English in an international environment
We’re excited to read your application and please do forward this newsletter on to anyone else you think might be interested in this excellent opportunity.

*The number of delegates allowed to Global Greens will not be known until the quota process that the UNFCCC undertakes is completed.
