**UPDATE: Applications now closed**
Dear Global Greens family,
We hope this finds you well in your corner of our beautiful planet.
Following our work at COP27, and other activities at Global Greens Congress, we are now busy preparing for COP28 in Dubai. We are very excited to open the Global Greens COP28 Delegates selection process. If you would like to represent and deliver Global Green activities in the run up to and at COP28, this is your opportunity to get involved.
Please read through the guidelines below and submit your application here.
The deadline for submissions is Friday 21st July 2023.
From this, applications blinded and a longlist made of potential delegates who will then be registered in the UNFCCC system. Once more details have been provided by the UNFCCC, a shortlist will be devised, with a reserve list of potential delegates should anyone from the shortlist be unable to attend.

The United Nations Climate Change Conference COP28 will take place from 30th November to 12th December 2023 in Dubai, UAE. The Global Greens will be sending a selection of delegates* to observe negotiations, represent the Global Greens and report back to our network of member organisations. Global Greens delegates will be considered Non-Governmental Observers for the purpose of the Conference.

The application process for Global Greens delegates to COP28 has been designed to ensure that:
- The diversity of our member organisations is equitably represented, with at least two delegates selected from each of the four Global Greens Federations.
- A minimum of 50% of our delegates will identify as women or non-binary;
- There is a balance between delegates who already have international negotiation experience, and those with a demonstrated commitment to climate campaigning within their communities.
Applications will be each graded by the Review Panel, which will be composed of individuals from the Global Greens Coordination and the Global Greens Climate Working Group. The panel will grade responses without reference to demographic details to minimise the impact of unconscious bias on the process.
After the Review Panel selects its preferred candidates, we may contact your regional Federation for further information, such as your history of involvement in Federation activities.
Unfortunately, there is no funding available for COP28 due to Congress in Korea this year. Delegates may need to fundraise and can be supported with this, and be expected to meet the costs of attending in Dubai.
The language of COP is English, so applicants must be comfortable working in English in an international environment.
Please submit your application here.
We’re excited to read your application and please do forward this on to anyone else you think might be interested in this excellent opportunity.

*The number of delegates allowed to Global Greens will not be known until the quota process that the UNFCCC undertakes is completed.
